This site is a collection of static documents. Nothing on it asks you for information, so most of what follows is a list of things we deliberately do not do.
Nothing identifying. The collective runs no accounts, no sign-in, no comment area and no submission field on any page, so there is literally no channel through which your details could arrive here. We hold no names, no addresses in any form, no numbers and no message text.
We set no cookies. No page writes to local storage or session storage. There is no consent banner because nothing on these pages requires consent. Your browser may cache the stylesheet and images to make return visits faster; that cache belongs to you and is cleared through your own browser settings.
No analytics platform, tag manager, heat map, session recorder or social network pixel appears on any page. We run no measurement software of our own and load none belonging to anybody else. In practice this means we do not know which pieces are read, how long anybody stays, or where our readers come from, and we consider that a reasonable price for not tracking people.
There is no advertising on this site, no advertising network code, no affiliate tracking and no sponsored placement. No commercial profile of you is created, consulted or shared because you visited.
Every asset here — the stylesheet, the single script file, all images, the site emblem — is served from this domain. No fonts, libraries, widgets, video players or media load from an external host, so reading a piece generates no request to any third party.
The hosting layer that serves these files may automatically record standard technical request information: the file requested, a timestamp, an HTTP status code and a truncated network address. This is generated by the web server for reliability and abuse prevention, is not linked to any identity, is not analysed for behavioural purposes and is rotated out on a short cycle.
Now and then a piece cites an archive or a compatibility reference kept by somebody else. Those sites answer to their own privacy practices, and what they gather about visitors is neither visible to us nor within our control once you have followed the link.
These pieces are written for a general adult readership interested in games criticism and computing history. Since no personal data is collected from any visitor, none is collected from minors either.
Data protection law grants rights of access, correction and erasure over personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to disclose, amend or delete. That is a deliberate decision about how to run a publication rather than an oversight.
Were the collective ever to add something that processes personal data, this notice would be rewritten before that feature appeared, and the difference spelled out in plain sentences instead of being folded silently into a new revision.
